Come work as a Stroke Neurologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Vancouver General Hospital Division of Neurology is seeking a RCPSC Certified Neurologists with fellowship training in Stroke and Cerebrovascular disease. The person hired will have the opportunity to establish a full-scope stroke subspecialty practice with expectation to participate in general neurology service. Clinical on-call responsibilities are divided between 12 stroke neurologists for the stroke service and all (30+) neurologists for the general neurology service. Hospital outpatient clinics include stroke clinic and rapid access general neurology clinic.

Minimum 1 year of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease fellowship with interest large vessel vasculopathy or stroke rehabilitation and medical education.

VGH is a teaching hospital and therefore teaching with medical students, residents and fellows are mandatory. Research and other academic activities are assets.

Education, Licensing, & Experience

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Desired
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Mandatory
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Mandatory


Minimum 1 year of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease fellowship with interest in large vessel vasculopathy or stroke rehabilitation and medical education.
