Introduction

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring daily radio communications to ensure the safety of the StreetReach Winnipeg team, as well as maintaining statistics, notes, and files for both the StreetReach Winnipeg and Thompson programs. In addition, the incumbent will monitor youth and offender social media activity to help determine their whereabouts, identify connections between youth, and track exploitation trends within the program and across the province.

Qualifications – Essential
  • Post‑secondary education in the social services field. This may include a certificate, diploma or degree. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience within the social services field may be considered.
  • Experience working with community agencies and programs in the Winnipeg area that provide support to exploited or high‑risk children and youth.
  • Knowledge of child sexual exploitation, addiction issues, and other relevant health, justice, and social issues.
  • Knowledge of the provisions in The Child and Family Services Act and the Criminal Code of Canada related to exploitation, sexual assault, and child abuse offences.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with common social media platforms and trends.li>
  • Knowledge of the issues faced by Indigenous children and youth.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills to maintain reports and client files.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to develop positive working relationships with diverse audiences.
Desired
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in French.
