Job summary

OMERS is looking for a seasoned procurement professional to support and drive Strategic Sourcing across Corporate & Investment spend. You will manage RFx processes end-to-end, negotiate favorable terms, and optimize supplier relationships in a global, matrixed organization.

The role requires strong project management, analytical skills, and excellent communication, with a focus on investment data feeds, software, cloud services, and professional services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in Procurement, preferably within a Financial Institution or other complex organization.
• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
• Experience with Investment Procurement and Market Data Feeds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end Strategic Sourcing process from needs identification to RFx to contract and PO execution.
• Lead supplier negotiations to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contracts.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and other risk domains to align sourcing strategies.
• Foster standardization of processes and drive efficiency in the strategic sourcing function.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about Procurement and with extensive experience in sourcing a wide range of goods and services with a strong focus on investment data feeds, software, cloud and professional services. The opportunity spans across the organization and will require interaction with employees at all levels. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, analytical skills, superb communication skills and a solid foundation on Procurement best practices.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for supporting and fostering the Strategic Sourcing process to reduce costs, improve quality, and optimize supplier relationships across the Corporate & Investment spend category enterprise wide.

Category Management:

• Assess, define and resolve procurement issues, including contract terms & conditions and escalations by internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Manage the strategic sourcing pipeline of projects for Corporate & Investment business units in partnership with the Manager, Strategic Sourcing.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier assessments, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contracts for assigned technologies to ensure compliance with established agreements and continuous improvement and raise to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing when required.
• Experience working with Investment Platforms and Market Data Feeds is preferred.

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Governance:

• Under the leadership and in close collaboration of the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, provide expertise in the preparation of RFx documents as well as manage the Strategic Sourcing process end-to-end, from needs identification to RFX to contract(s) and PO execution.
• Lead supplier negotiations to achieve favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements.
• Support and foster the enforcement and compliance of the Procurement Policy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, and other risk domains to align sourcing strategies with business objectives in partnership with the Manager, Strategic Sourcing.
• Support and foster initiatives to standardize processes, streamline operations, and enhance efficiency within the strategic sourcing function in partnership with the Manager, Strategic Sourcing.

Relationship Management & Communication:

• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across Corporate & Investment Business Units as well as key Tier‑1 suppliers.
• Strong team player, able to work individually but also as part of a large team supporting Business Units across OMERS.
• Excellent customer service orientation.

Procurement Expertise & Industry Knowledge:

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Procurement, preferably within a Financial Institution or other complex, matrixed global organization.
• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Strength in Professional Services and Investment Procurement is preferred (Market Data Feeds, etc.).

Project Management & Collaboration:

• Strong project management skills, experience managing complex projects, and keen attention to detail.

The expected salary range for this position is $72,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year.
