Job summary

The City of Saskatoon’s Finance department is seeking a Financial Analyst II to perform advanced corporate accounting and financial reporting to support the City’s consolidated statements and internal controls.

The role requires CPA designation, 4–6 years of experience, and strong knowledge of PSAS, budgeting, and accounting systems. You will collaborate across civic departments, prepare annual statements, support audits, and help improve processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in related discipline plus completion of a professional Canadian accounting designation; i.e. CPA.
• Four to six years' progressively responsible experience in financial management analysis and reporting.
• Considerable knowledge of budgeting and financial systems and procedures, financial research and analysis techniques.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and finance administration.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced corporate accounting and financial reporting to support consolidated statements.
• Assists with management of accounting operations, financial systems, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Prepares annual corporate financial statements and assists external auditors.
• Plans and coordinates year-end processes and reporting activities.
• Coordinates, analyzes and reports financial data for management.
