HumanWare in Canada is seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager to lead cost optimization for components and negotiate with major suppliers across the globe.

Reporting to the Sr. Director Operations, you will collaborate with R&D during product design, establish supplier KPIs, and manage a procurement team to meet budget and inventory targets. Strong leadership and communications are essential as you influence sourcing strategies and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in administration or engineering.
• 8 years of procurement experience.
• Knowledge of the electronics market is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, evaluates and recommends suppliers globally to ensure quality, price and availability of parts and raw materials.
• Negotiates the cost of critical or strategic electronic and mechanical parts selected by R D during product development.
• In collaboration with the Logistics and Planning Manager, establishes the supplier KPIs; reviews costs for all material lists of products developed by HumanWare.
• Reviews and optimizes the purchase order to payment process including vendor invoice verification.
• Optimizes the supply of parts through consolidation efforts with preferred suppliers.
• Recommends strategies for supply of parts to ensure best material cost while respecting inventory turnover objectives.
• Evaluates the practices of contract manufacturers and participates in their economic performance assessments.
• Develops and maintains procedures, work instructions and quality records.
