Job summary

Northern Rockies Regional Municipality seeks a Director of Finance to lead budgeting, accounting, taxation, payroll, reporting, investments and risk management across a regional municipality with vast resources.

CPA required; five years in local government finance and at least three years in a senior leadership role; strong governance and PSAS knowledge; experience with Great Plains or Diamond MFM preferred.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years in local government finance with at least three years in a senior leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of municipal finance, governance, PSAS, and public-sector accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, accounting, taxation, payroll, financial reporting, investments and risk management.
• Lead long-range financial planning and support major capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with municipal legislation and PSAS; provide strategic financial oversight.
