Job summary

Obsidian Theatre Company in Toronto is seeking a Managing Director to lead the organization's operations, financial sustainability, and growth alongside the Artistic Director and Board.

The role oversees finance, administration, revenue development, people and culture, governance, and external relations, and requires a track record of strategic leadership and fundraising in the arts sector.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee finance, administration, revenue development, people and culture, operations, governance, and external relations.
• Translate organizational priorities into clear plans, budgets, and measures of success.
• Ensure stewardship of resources and sustainable operations.
• Lead government funding, grants, sponsorships, and other revenue opportunities.
• Represent Obsidian externally and build partnerships across the theatre sector.
