Job summary

City of New Westminster is seeking a Deputy Director of Arts, Culture & Heritage to lead the Community Services department’s arts, culture and conference services. Reporting to the Director, you will guide managers, manage multiple divisions, and drive strategic programs aligned with City priorities.

You will oversee partnerships, facility operations, marketing, and capital budgets while championing equity and reconciliation across programs and audiences.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in arts, culture or heritage governance.
• Experience developing policies, procedures and strategic plans.
• Strong budgeting, reporting, and program delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership for arts, culture, heritage and conference services.
• Lead development and delivery of the Arts Strategy and Public Art Plans.
• Oversee partnerships and agreements for facilities like Massey Theatre and Bernie Legge Theatre.
• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Represent the department in Council and other meetings.
