Job summary

Jagger, a fast-growing AI startup in Toronto, is seeking a Global Controller to own the entire finance and accounting function reporting directly to the CEO.

This hands-on role demands a CPA, 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, and a track record of leading a Controller function at a VC-backed startup. You will build scalable finance processes to support rapid growth and manage treasury, tax, and audits.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Public accounting background at Manager level (Big 4 preferred).
• Owned the Controller function at a VC-backed startup.
• Hands-on and willing to roll up sleeves.
• Strong operator with ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Prepare and oversee IFRS financial statements.
• Lead the external audit end-to-end.
• Build and scale financial processes to support rapid growth.
• Oversee treasury, cash management, and working capital.
• Manage all corporate tax filings including SR&ED.
• Own the budget and forecasting process.
