Seaspan ULC is seeking a Financial Analyst II to contribute to cost analysis, reporting, metrics tracking, and forecasting for Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards. This 9-month limited term role offers an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days onsite, with benefits and pro-rated vacation.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and 3–5 years of experience, with CPA in progress preferred, and strong knowledge of Canadian ASPE GAAP, ERP systems, and Power BI.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance.
• Working towards CPA designation.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian ASPE GAAP and related financial reporting requirements.
• ERP systems knowledge (Oracle, JDE or equivalent).
• Advanced PowerPoint, SAP BI/Power BI skills.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office products.

Responsabilidades

• Performs analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting services.
• Assists with annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts for both operational overhead and chargeable project hours.
• Runs weekly labour reports, providing analytical commentary.
• Supports ad hoc analysis and modelling for business case development.
• Performs cost analysis to identify inefficiency and communicates root causes to management.
• Supports divisions with development and reporting of operational and financial metrics.
• Engages in strategic and cost management projects as directed by the Ops Finance Manager.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including labour reports and finance statements.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify drivers of financial performance and forecast compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and ensure alignment with financial objectives.
• Adheres to processes and suggests improvements for standardization and efficiency.
• Performs additional ad hoc analyses as assigned.
