Job summary

Our client, a Toronto-based strategic and legal advisory firm, seeks an Associate with 1–4 years post-call experience in corporate and securities law to join its team.

You will work directly with clients on live mandates, handling matters from strategy to execution across transactions, governance disputes, capital structure matters and investigations. Strong drafting, judgment and commercial sense are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years post-call experience with the Ontario Bar.
• Background in corporate and securities law.
• Familiarity with Canadian corporate and securities rules, including OBCA/CBCA.
• Excellent drafting and strong analytical capabilities.
• Good judgment, discretion and handling sensitive matters.
• Entrepreneurial and self-directed approach with responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients from the outset on live mandates.
• Take matters from strategy to execution across complex matters.
• Engage in contested and transformative transactions; governance disputes.
• Contribute to strategic alternatives, capital structure matters, and investigations.
• Review and assess opportunities for principal investment.
