Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions seeks a PROJECT COMMERCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST to drive procurement and contracting for large-scale capital projects in Vancouver with periodic travel across BC. Independent contractor role for a 1-year duration, supporting commercial oversight and project performance.

The role involves developing contracting strategies, issuing tender documentation, negotiating terms, and managing variations, with emphasis on cost optimization and effective supplier relationships on-site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related discipline.
• Strong procurement, contracting and commercial process knowledge.
• Experience in projects or industrial environments, preferably capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement of services including engineering, consulting, and site support.
• Develop and execute contracting strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Prepare tender documentation, manage bid evaluations, and support award recommendations.
• Negotiate commercial terms and draft service agreements and contracts.
• Manage contract variations, extensions, and change orders to completion.
• Review supplier invoices against contract terms and support payments.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure service delivery.
• Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve commercial outcomes.
• Support logistics, equipment, and service agreements as required.
