Job summary

The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach MGST 615 LEC 01 & LEC 03 (Strategic Business Analysis) during Winter 2027. Classes run January 11 to April 13, 2027, with registrar exams in late April if applicable.

Candidates should hold an MBA or equivalent (PhD preferred), with knowledge of strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation, and prior postsecondary teaching experience.

Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent degree is required; PhD is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation is required.
• Previous post secondary teaching experience is a requirement.
• Ability to mentor project teams on project process and stakeholder engagement is required.
• Industry experience in strategic consulting (quality of achievements and years of experience considered) is strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching strategy, finance, or entrepreneurship courses at the graduate level is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience teaching MGST 615 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach MGST 615 LEC 01 & LEC 03 (Strategic Business Analysis) in Winter 2027.
• Deliver course content, assessments, and exams in alignment with the calendar.
• Mentor student project teams and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to the learning experience with industry-relevant insights (if applicable).
