MacEwan University is seeking a Senior Budget Officer to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across faculties. You will collaborate with leaders to align resources with strategic priorities and support the annual budget process and three-year financial plan.

The role emphasizes financial analysis, policy interpretation, and strong communication with stakeholders to ensure accountability and optimal resource allocation.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting positions in medium or large organizations.
• Completion or near completion of a CPA designation.
• Experience preparing and overseeing budget and forecast submissions in a complex environment.
• Experience working with financial information systems and tools such as Excel, Power BI, EPM, PeopleSoft or similar.
• Experience in a post-secondary or public sector environment would be an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Lead budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and analysis of grants, tuition, fees, and other financial drivers.
• Support capital project budgeting and forecasting and track capitalization funding.
• Model financial impact of legislative, regulatory, and policy changes.
• Assist workforce planning and staffing cost analysis; manage vacancies at aggregate level.
• Provide financial modelling and costing information during collective bargaining negotiations.
• Support development and continuous improvement of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and planning processes.
