Job summary

Strathcona County is seeking a Budget Coordinator to support organization-wide budget development, including rolling multi-year operating and capital budgets. You will deliver comprehensive financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and provide detailed budget reports to stakeholders.

This temporary full-time role (up to 18 months) involves coordinating budget submissions, ensuring accuracy, and aiding in prioritizing initiatives across departments.

Qualifications

• Related degree completed or in progress with budgeting focus.
• Minimum 3 years budgeting experience, municipal preferred.
• CPA designation completed or in progress is an asset.
• Understanding of PSAS and ability to translate financial data into insights.

Responsibilities

• Support development and consolidation of multi-year operating and capital budgets.
• Assist budget submissions to align with strategic goals and objectives.
• Coordinate budget amendments and report preparation for decision making.
• Administer budget applications and process enhancements.
• Support funding projects and advise on funding sources via business cases.
• Lead annual updates of fees, rates, and bylaw with departmental inputs.
• Support planning by handling budget change requests, salary data, and timelines.
• Communicate guidelines for budget application and provide training.
