Job summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking an Application Support Specialist for Planning, Permitting, Licensing & By-law to manage the Computronix POSSE platform, configurations, and integrations. The role requires strong ITIL practices, system administration, and collaboration with vendors and business units to ensure stability and performance.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Five+ years of experience in IT technical support, system administration, or enterprise software implementation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with an enterprise Planning, Permitting, Licensing, and By-law platform including configuration, integrations, troubleshooting, and customizations.
• Ability to lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for platform-related issues.
• Advanced working knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) and reporting/data analytics.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (ERP, GIS, CRM, HRMS) and their interactions with the platform.
• Strong documentation, design, and change/release management skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into design and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and administration of the POSSE solution, including configuration, development, security, and optimization.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to review change requests, develop overall solution designs, and provide operational support.
• Support integrations solutions between POSSE and other enterprise applications and services including ERP, CRM, and Document Markup.
• Define and assign user roles, user groups, and permissions to ensure secure access.
• Develop functional and technical specifications from detailed business requirements.
• Lead development and implementation tasks identified on project plans to meet goals and timelines.
• Maintain system architecture documentation with Solution/Enterprise Architects and identify solutions for new requests.
• Advise on ITIL-aligned incident management, problem resolution, and change control processes.
