Job summary

Giant Tiger in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a Store Supervisor (Full-Time) for the grocery department. You will oversee daily operations, train associates, manage inventory and ensure high levels of customer service.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, merchandising, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Typical hours are 35–40 per week with day/evening shifts and weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Complete ordering and replenishment of merchandise; manage inventory processes.

• Enforce GT System policies, procedures and standards; provide actionable recommendations.
• Lead merchandising activities and participate in inventory management (cycle counts).
• Assist Store Owner/Manager with scheduling and quantification; resolve customer complaints promptly.

About This Role:

What You'll Be Doing:

• Ensuring a high level of customer service, for assigned departments (cash, softgoods, hardgoods or grocery)
• Oversee the day-to-day operations
• Training and Communicating policies and procedures to department Associates on a daily basis
• E.g. SKU, pricing issues, printing signs, labels, operating the RF unit
• Complete ordering and replenishment of merchandise
• Supervising a team within the assigned departments while ensuring cross-functional collaboration
• Ensuring execution of the GT System (policies, procedures, standards) by all Associates
• Takes appropriate action and provides recommendations based on analysis of assigned area
• Leads merchandising activities
• Prepare and participating in inventory management activities (e.g. cycle counts)
• Provide input to the Store Owner/Manager into scheduling and quantification
• Resolving customer complaints quickly and professionally
• Opening and closing the store on a rotating basis
• Actively involved and connected with the store's local community
• Supporting the store owner/manager on additional tasks and projects
• Ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
• Ensuring the checkout work area is kept clean and organized
• Ensuring Loss prevention best practices are followed
• Ensuring compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery

What You'll Bring:

• 1-3 years retail management experience or equivalent Giant Tiger experience as a keyholder

When You'll Work:

A typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35-40 hours weekly. A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.

Physical Demands of Position:

• Stand and/or walk
• Bend, twist, and squat
• Lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs)
• Perform tasks involving firm grasping
• Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions
• Reach above shoulder height and below waist level
• Operate equipment, including using a ladder
