Job details

We are in search of a professional and qualified retail store manager who is passionate about creating a unique, customer-focused environment. The store manager is the operations leader and partners with ownership, sales manager and supervisors; must be proficient in all aspects of the business. From hiring & training knowledgeable associates, overseeing efficient and accurate inventory, to establishing and maintaining a positive customer sales experience, you will set the standard of success within our store.

Key accountabilities:

  • Sales and Customer Service: Execute Cannabis and accessories selling strategies; view sales reports and communicate with the team to identify sales trends and potential inventory requirements; direct and motivate employees to attain personal sales goals; provide an enjoyable, full-service shopping experience to customers; provide complaint resolution to ensure satisfaction; utilize feedback to improve the customer experience.
  • Operational: Hire sales associates, supervise and manage employees; assist in building weekly or bi-weekly staff schedules; maintain store compliance with provincial regulations set by the AGCO; train all team members on procedures and policies; operate within AGCO Cannabis rules; manage inventory receiving; perform daily opening/closing; oversee security, reporting and cash management; supply ordering for store, office, and shipping; ensure expired/damaged/returned product is logged and disposed of per provincial regulations; provide daily communication to team; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Leadership: Work with supervisors and sales associates to execute standards; cover floor, process client purchases, open/close store; create a positive and united work environment; train and develop staff; motivate and inspire team members; coach and provide feedback; complete annual performance appraisals; enforce policies and handle disciplinary actions; be accessible and responsive to team questions and concerns.
Experience and qualifications
  • Minimum two years of experience in a Retail management role
  • Experience in Cannabis, Liquor, Hospitality and/or Healthcare is preferred
  • Previous nightclub or bar management experience is an asset; Health and Safety, Education and training experience is a strong asset
  • Post-Secondary education
  • Cannabis Retail Manager License (to be obtained through AGCO)
  • Must pass a Criminal Record Check and a Comprehensive Background Check
  • Working knowledge of regulations pertaining to selling Cannabis in Ontario
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and execution skills
  • Ability to use POS system and its inventory management functions
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
