Job summary

Semtech is seeking a Storage Systems Administrator to manage NetApp ONTAP and Pure Storage arrays, Druva backups, and AWS storage for a multi-region infrastructure. The role supports ~2,100 users across 30+ sites and collaborates with IT teams globally.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of storage experience, hands-on NetApp/Pure expertise, and strong knowledge of Linux/Windows servers and storage protocols. Hybrid or on-site work within North America is expected.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• 3+ years in storage architecture, deployment, administration and performance monitoring.
• Hands-on with NetApp and Pure Storage arrays.
• Experience with GNU/Linux and Windows servers.
• Knowledge of storage protocols (NFS, SMB, iSCSI, FC).
• Familiarity with AWS storage services (S3, EBS, FSx).

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain NetApp ONTAP and Pure Storage arrays across global sites, provisioning, capacity planning and upgrades.
• Manage Druva backup jobs, retention policies, and restore operations; troubleshoot failures and validate RPO/RTO.
• Support AWS storage services (FSx ONTAP/Lustre, S3, EBS) including cross-region replication.
• Participate in storage migrations, hardware refreshes, and datacenter transitions.
• Collaborate with systems, network and security teams on cross-functional issues.

Job Summary

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with contributions to long-term infrastructure strategy in a fast-moving semiconductor environment. As part of the global IT Engineering team, the Storage Systems Administrator manages and maintains the company’s global storage estate, including on-premises NetApp and Pure Storage arrays, AWS cloud storage services, and the Druva backup/DR platform. This net-new role supports approximately 2,100 users across 30+ sites in North America, EMEA, and APAC, including mainland China.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain NetApp (ONTAP) and Pure Storage arrays across multiple global sites provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, firmware/OS upgrades.(30%)
• Manage and monitor Druva backup jobs, retention policies, and restore operations; troubleshoot backup failures and validate recovery point/time objectives (20%)
• Support AWS storage services (FSx ONTAP, FSx Lustre, S3, EBS) used in multi-region EDA infrastructure, including SnapMirror-based replication from on-prem to cloud (20%)
• Participate in storage migrations, hardware refreshes, and datacenter/colocation transitions. (5%)
• Collaborate with systems, network and security teams on cross-functional issues (25%)

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Minimum of 3 years of storage architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, troubleshooting and production operations.
• Hands-on experience with NetApp and Pure storage arrays.
• Hands-on experience on server OSs (GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows)
• Deep understanding of storage protocols (NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, FC)
• Working knowledge with AWS storage services (S3, EBS, FSx).

Desired Qualifications

• AWS certification (Architect)
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, KVM)
• Experience of deployments in AWS
• NetApp and Pure certifications would be a plus
