Description

The Northern Production Insurance Team is an established group within the Production Insurance & AWP team, made up of nine dedicated professionals across the Cariboo and Peace regions. Our team includes management, administrative, and technical roles, and we work closely with colleagues from across the Business Risk Management Branch, including claims staff, technicians, and other specialists. Together, we provide risk management services through Production Insurance and AWP programs, supporting stability and resilience in BC’s agriculture sector. We value collaboration, respect, and diverse perspectives to ensure inclusive service for producers throughout the province.

The Role

As the Program Representative, you will review and underwrite Production Insurance policies for BC agricultural producers, build strong customer relationships, and provide support through inspections, field reports, and claim recommendations. Your work helps farmers manage risks from severe weather and wildlife damage, protecting their livelihoods and supporting the long-term sustainability of BC’s agriculture sector. Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, agricultural science or related field and a minimum of 1 year current, progressive and related experience OR
  • A technical diploma in business, agricultural science or related field and a minimum of 2 years current, progressive and related experience OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience can include any of the following:

  • Direct farming experience.
  • Experience with agricultural production or consultation.
  • Experience in insurance or sales.
  • Direct client service

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience with the production of Grain and/or Forage crops grown in B.C.
