Responsibilities Tasks
  • Co-ordinate maintenance activities of trade contractors
  • Complete and maintain station records, logs and reports
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams
  • Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunction
  • Assist during routine systems testing
  • Assist in locating and isolating system problems
  • Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures
  • Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair
  • Issue work and test permits to electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel
  • Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activitiesMonitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally
  • Operate automated or computerized control systems
  • Operate equipment in hydro, thermal and nuclear power plants
