Job summary

Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, customer service-oriented Barista (Part-Time) to join the Starbucks Team in the lobby of the hotel. This position will provide service in the Starbucks located in the lobby and is responsible for fulfilling guest orders and ensuring a welcoming environment.

The role requires fast-paced interaction, cash handling, and exceptional communication skills, with flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays.

• Must have an open and flexible availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays (opening shifts would start at 5:00am weekdays and 5:30am on weekends)

Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated; customer service-oriented Barista (Part- Time) to join the Starbucks Team.

This position will provide service in the Starbucks located in the lobby of the hotel.

This position is responsible for fulfilling guest orders; preparingbeverages in accordance with menu standards and provide a welcoming and clean environment for guests. This is a fast-paced position with constant customer interaction and cash handling. This person must have exceptional communication skills as well as superior guest service abilities.

Interested applicants MUST be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Starting wage for the Barista position is $24.13 per hour, after 6 months, wage increases to $28.16 per hour and after 1 year, wage increases to $32.18 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a busy and fast paced environment
• Must have an open and flexible availability to work various shifts which would also include weekends and holidays (opening shifts would start at 5:00am weekdays and 5:30am on weekends and closing shifts end at 10:00pm)
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have the physical stamina to carry, lift, pull and/or push a moderate amount of weight (about 25 lbs)
• Must have Food Safe certificate
• Must remain positive at all times
• Must be an excellent team player and able to work with a diverse group of individuals
• Must remain professional at all times
• Must have previous customer service experience
• Previous cash handling experience preferred
• Must possess good upselling skills
• Must have excellent and refined communication skills
• Previous Starbucks experience is not a requirement but would be considered an asset
• Previous coffee shop experience is an asset
• Knowledge of a second language is an asset
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
