Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is offering an internship in the Thermal Camera team in Montreal. Under supervision, you will contribute to defining and implementing tests for new infrared camera generations, focusing on lab automation and data analysis.

The role requires you to study electrical/computer/software engineering, with Python and C# programming, object-oriented concepts, and fluency in French and English. Collaboration across international teams is common.

Formación

• Internship level 2 or higher in an engineering program.

Sommaire du poste

Vous travaillerez au sein de l’équipe des caméras thermiques. Sous la supervision du gestionnaire de projet et du responsable technique en ingénierie de test, vous contribuerez à définir et à mettre en œuvre des tests adaptés à nos nouvelles générations de caméras thermiques (infrarouges).

Responsabilités principales

Vos Principales Responsabilités Comprendront Notamment

• Mettre en place les outils et équipements de test appropriés (sources corps noir, bancs optiques, chambres environnementales, systèmes d’acquisition de données);
• Développer et automatiser des scripts de test et analyser les données de mesure obtenues;
• Mettre en œuvre, vérifier, valider et documenter la nouvelle plateforme de test et de validation.

Exigences

• Niveau de stage 2 ou supérieur;
• Études en génie électrique, génie informatique, génie logiciel, génie physique ou génie de la production automatisée;
• Expérience en programmation avec Python et C#;
• Bonne compréhension des concepts de programmation orientée objet;
• Intérêt pour les mesures en laboratoire, l’automatisation des tests et l’analyse de données;
• Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais

Compétences et expérience souhaitées

• Familiarité avec les outils de laboratoire (fer à souder, oscilloscope, voltmètre, etc.);
• Notions d’imagerie infrarouge, d’optique ou de radiométrie (sources corps noir, NETD, correction de non-uniformité);
• Connaissance des algorithmes de traitement d’images et de l’analyse statistique de données;
• Expérience avec l’environnement de développement Visual Studio;
• Connaissance du format XML;
• Familiarité avec un système de contrôle de versions (SVN, Git, etc.);
• Avoir complété au moins une année d’un programme de génie avec une moyenne cumulative d’au moins 2,8/4,3 ou l’équivalent.

Job Summary

You will work within the Thermal Camera team. Under the supervision of the project manager and the test engineering technical lead, you will contribute to defining and implementing tests adapted to our new generations of thermal (infrared) cameras.

Detailed Description

Your main tasks will include, among others:

• Implement the appropriate test tools and equipment (blackbody sources, optical benches, environmental chambers, data acquisition);
• Develop and automate test scripts and analyze the resulting measurement data;

Implement, verify, validate, and document the new test and validation platform.

Requirements

• Internship level 2 or higher;
• Studies in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, engineering physics, or automated production engineering;
• Programming experience in a scripting language Python and C#;
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts;
• Interest in laboratory measurement, test automation, and data analysis

Fluent in French and English

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Familiarity with laboratory tools (soldering iron, oscilloscope, voltmeter, etc.);
• Notions of infrared imaging, optics, or radiometry (blackbody sources, NETD, non-uniformity correction);
• Knowledge of image processing algorithms and statistical data analysis;
• Experience with the Visual Studio development environment;
• Knowledge of XML format;
• Familiarity with a version control system (SVN, Git, etc.);
• Completion of at least one year in an engineering programme with a cumulative average of at least 2.8/4.3 or equivalent.
