A community arts organization is seeking a Stage Manager for a Student Work Placement to support performances at the Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival. The Community Arts Council of Vancouver (CACV) was the first arts council in North America. Since its beginning in 1946, the Community Arts Council of Vancouver has been a contributor to shaping the cultural life of Vancouver. CACV has been a powerful force in creating and advocating for many of the institutions, traditions, and policies in Vancouver that we benefit from today. Community Arts Council of Vancouver (CACV) is seeking a Stage Manager (Student Work Placement) who works directly with the Executive Director, Program Manager and Programs Coordinator to support performances at the Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival (VOAF). Festival dates are October 9-14, 2025. The festival takes place at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Downtown Vancouver, and is accessible via public transportation (Skytrain) and public bus.
Compensation: Living wage rate at $22 per hour for approx 120 hours from July to October 2025.
The Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival provides opportunities for exhibition, performance, connection and learning to visual and performing artists facing social exclusion and other barriers. The Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival is Canada’s first and only festival for Outsider Art. The artists may be self-taught or trained: they are all devoted to their creative practices, and come from a point of view that is outside the mainstream art world trends.
