Description

The individual chosen for this position will be a member of an engineering team responsible for testing and validating firmware, hardware and software in a Laboratory. This individual will be executing RF test plans to prove system performance. The engineer will process data and prepare reports. She/He will troubleshoot and run setup validation tests to guarantee accuracy and repeatability. The successful candidate will be an effective problem solver and a proactive process owner.

Responsibilities
  • Verify new firmware and test solutions before releasing to production
  • Improve process quality and reliability
  • Perform statistical studies to validate process capability
  • Establish optimum process and provide support to train test team
  • Analyze test data and prepare report
  • Support in standardizing test benches across multiple sites
  • Validate setups by comparing setup performance to a standard
  • Troubleshoot RF Test setups to keep the production flowing
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to support engineering test projects
  • Develop new techniques to streamline test process
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in RF component testing.
  • 8+ years of experience in testing Firmware, automated test solutions.
  • Knowledge in the use of Design of Experiments, statistical process control and analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal.
  • Pragmatic and flexible attitude with a result- and data-driven can-do mentality.
  • Experience in creating, documenting and maintaining work instructions.
  • Works autonomously, well-organized, with a good attention to detail, while setting high standards in all aspects of the work.
  • Familiar with common programming languages such as LabView and python.
  • Proficient with test equipment including RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters.
  • Knowledgeable in RF Test. Testing includes s-parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, TOI, DEVM and harmonics to mention some.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role is currently CAD$101,700 -$173,800. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, and the ultimate job duties and requirements. Benefits include access to healthcare, a retirement plan company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock. These incentives and awards are based on individual and/or company performance.
