Job summary

Google Inc. in Waterloo, Ontario seeks a Staff Software Developer for Protected Data SRE to own outcomes, lead complex systems, and guide a team across infrastructure disciplines.

You will influence stakeholders, reduce production risks, and ensure service reliability while collaborating with cross-functional partners. Strong coding skills and experience with large-scale systems are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience including product demand/supply planning and production/inventory management.
• 3 years of experience with Unix/Linux internals and networking (TCP/IP, routing).
• Experience programming in C, C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with computer networking (DNS, load balancing) and Linux/Unix system administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead Protected Data SRE initiatives and technical direction for Waterloo team.
• Drive large-scale, fault-tolerant systems with cross-functional partners.
• Mentor developers and balance reliability with regulatory deadlines.
• Collaborate with infrastructure stacks from Spanner to Google Front End (GFE).
