Job summary

Equifax, Inc. is seeking senior software engineers to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native applications. You will lead architecture and contribute hands-on across Java, Spring Boot and modern front-end stacks, while leveraging AI tools to accelerate development.

You will collaborate with architects, SREs and product teams, mentor engineers, and ensure secure development practices are followed. Strong communication and cloud experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design and development of complex, scalable full-stack applications with focus on Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Contribute hands-on to development of complex features, back-end services, and APIs.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools to accelerate the software lifecycle.
• Standardize AI-assisted development with well-defined Agents and Skills.
• Demonstrate understanding of cloud-native, distributed microservice architectures and collaborate with product, business and sales partners.
• Collaborate with architects, SRE leads and technical leadership on strategic direction and best practices.
• Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers across software, quality and reliability teams.
• Ensure compliance with secure development guidelines and meet QE, DevSec, and FinOps KPIs.
• Define and report SLA, SLO, SLIs with product and architecture teams.
• Drive technical documentation and lead sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Implement architecture decisions for features, refactoring and EOSL.
• Deliver technical presentations to stakeholders with clarity and precision.
• Perform R&D and PoC of cloud-native solutions.
• Design and develop cloud-native solutions and microservices using Java, Spring Boot and GCP/Kubernetes.
• Deploy and release software using GitHub Actions and IaC concepts.
• Cloud certification strongly preferred.

What you’ll do

• Lead the Architecture design and development of complex , scalable and resilient full-stack applications , with a primary focus on Java , Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks.

• Remain hands‑on and contribute to the development of complex features , back‑end services, and APIs, setting a high standard for the team.

• Utilize AI‑powered development tools like GitHub Copilot , Claude Code to accelerate the software development lifecycle.

• Standardize the way software developers build applications using AI through well defined Agents and Skills.

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of cloud native, distributed micro service based architectures. Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including product, business and sales partners. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to both simplify complex problems and also dive deeper if needed.

• Collaborate with the architects, SRE leads and other technical leadership on strategic technical direction, guidelines, and best practices

• Manage teams with cross functional skills that include software, quality, reliability engineers, project managers and scrum masters. Mentor, coach and develop junior and senior software, quality and reliability engineers

• Ensure compliance with EFX secure software development guidelines and best practices and responsible for meeting and maintaining QE, DevSec, and FinOps KPIs.

• Define, maintain and report SLA, SLO, SLIs meeting EFX engineering standards in partnership with the product, engineering and architecture teams

• Drive technical documentation including support, end user documentation and run books. Lead Sprint planning, Sprint Retrospectives, and other team activity.

• Implement architecture decision making associated with Product features/stories, refactoring work, and EOSL decisions

• Create and deliver technical presentations to internal and external technical and non-technical stakeholders communicating with clarity and precision, and present complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate

• Perform R&D, prototyping/PoC of cloud-native solutions

• Design and develop cloud-native solutions. Design and development of big data processing solutions using Dataflow/Apache Beam, Bigtable, BigQuery, PubSub, GCS, Composer/Airflow, and others. Design and development of micro services using Java, Springboot, GCP SDKs, GKE/Kubeneties

• Deploy and release software using GitHub Actions, understand infrastructure-as-code concepts, Helm Charts, and Terraform constructs

• Cloud Certification strongly preferred

What experience you need

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience

• 7+ years experience writing, debugging, and troubleshooting code in mainstream Java, SpringBoot, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS

• 7+ years experience with Cloud technology: GCP, AWS, or Azure

• 7+ years experience designing and developing cloud-native solutions

• 7+ years experience designing and developing microservices using Java, SpringBoot, GCP SDKs, GKE/Kubernetes

• 7+ years experience deploying and releasing software using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, understand infrastructure-as-code concepts, Helm Charts, and Terraform constructs

• Proficiency in utilizing AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot , Claude Code)
