Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Calgary, Canada, seeks an MTS Software Development Engineer to push the frontier of numeric programming and GPU architectures. You will design and optimize software for high-performance computing and AI workloads, collaborating with hardware teams to accelerate GEMM and tensor operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development, strong C/C++ and Python, and hands-on GPU programming with HIP or CUDA. A Master’s or PhD is a plus; relocation is supported.

MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

The AI revolution is based on ultra-high performance math libraries running on the world's most advance compute accelerators. The role will be to work at the frontier of computing, at the intersection of numeric programming and next-generation GPU architectures, to build the fastest GEMM and Tensor operations the world has ever seen. You will build code that runs in the fastest data centers and supercomputers, and which forms the foundation of every major AI model today.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for someone with strong foundational software skills, a background in GPU or GPU-adjacent computing (or with equivalent low level programming and optimization skills), and who is comfortable working at the interface between hardware and software. The ideal candidate is empirically minded with a solid grasp of numerical methods and linear algebra.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
