Job description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are currently seeking a Staff Product Marketing Manager to join our Product Marketing team in Burnaby , Toronto or Calgary . We are also open to remote candidates across Canada or the U.S .

This role is a 12-17 month fixed term contract .

What your team does:

The Product Marketing team at Clio is the connective tissue between product, revenue, and the market. We translate complex product capabilities into clear value for legal professionals — and we do it across the full customer journey, from awareness through adoption and expansion.

Rated top place to work in product marketing by the Product Marketing Alliance, you’ll be part of a team that values excellence and initiative, loves testing, and cares about results. As Staff Product Marketing Manager, your work will define how law firms understand and adopt Clio’s accounting, time tracking, and activities offerings, and how confidently our sales and success teams can sell and support them.

You will be surrounded by a talented group of high-performing product marketers, seasoned in SaaS and driven by collective success. Together, you will set the bar for best-in-class marketing practices and use them to maintain our position as the leader in legal practice management.

Who you are:

You're a highly experienced, multi-skilled product marketer with a track record of owning complex, revenue-critical portfolios end to end and with little oversight. You know how to translate complex, trust-sensitive domains into language your buyer actually uses — whether that's a bookkeeper who needs accuracy and compliance, or a lawyer tracking billable time who needs speed and clarity. You don't default to generic SaaS language for either. You're comfortable being the subject matter expert other PMMs and cross-functional partners come to, and you don't need to be told what the priority is — you see it, build the case for it, and drive it.

You know how to drive growth strategy for a product that competes for GTM investment against more foundational, deeply technical features — and you don't let the complexity of one pull focus from where the growth actually is. You think in terms of the whole business, not just your launch calendar: you can hold your portfolios as a coherent strategy rather than disconnected work-streams, and you know how to sequence and prioritize across them when they compete for the same GTM resources. You mentor less experienced PMMs, and senior stakeholders treat you as a source of market truth, not just an execution arm

What you’ll work on:

Own the end-to-end GTM strategy for the Accounting, Timekeeping, and Activities portfolios, and how each is positioned within Clio's broader platform.

Partner with product and cross-functional leaders to build and drive collective plans against business OKRs, including tier 1 releases with significant business impact.

Lead GTM strategy and execution for product, feature, and program launches across your portfolios — owning the decisions, not just the delivery.

Drive GTM strategy for Timekeeping as a growth and expansion add-on, and build product messaging grounded in how accounting and financial-management buyers evaluate software, not generic practice-management framing.

Enable sales, marketing, support, and customer success to tell a compelling, credible story to firms about billing, timekeeping, and financial accuracy.

Use customer, market, and competitive insight — including your own domain fluency in accounting workflows — to identify new opportunities and act as the voice of the customer internally.

Act as a mentor and quality bar-setter for other PMMs on messaging, positioning, and GTM rigor.

What you may have:

8+ years of relevant product marketing experience, including owning a complex portfolio independently.

Direct experience marketing accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or financial-management software — you understand how accountants and financial admins evaluate and adopt tools, and you can speak their language credibly.

Experience marketing an add-on or expansion product tied to growth or usage-based revenue, not just a core platform feature.

A track record of leading GTM for significant releases with real business impact, not just executing against someone else's plan.

Advanced strategic and analytical skills, with the judgment to make decisions in ambiguous, evaluative situations without a clear playbook.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build a business case that holds up with senior leadership.

You're AI-savvy — you go beyond basic AI application in how you conduct your own work, whether that's research, drafting, or analysis.

Experience managing by influence across product, sales, and CS without direct authority.

Serious bonus points if you have:

Experience in the legal or legal technology industry.

Experience marketing to small businesses owners or professional services firms specifically.
