Overview

Staff Product Designer, Golf

Lightspeed Golf is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the evolution of Chronogolf, our consumer-facing mobile product. This role will be pivotal in transforming the tee time booking experience and how golf courses communicate and engage with their golfers.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of delivering user-friendly mobile experiences that deliver key business outcomes. You have expert understanding of design systems and experience designing for React Native. You confidently identify strategic opportunities that create substantial value and excel in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments.

What you’ll be doing
  • Problem Solving
    • Lead high-level product portfolio initiatives through hands-on design, contributing to product strategy and vision
    • Understand business objectives to solve abstract problems, applying strategic thinking. Shape the organization to enable teams to solve problems efficiently
    • Break big problems into smaller experiments to validate assumptions and drive progress
    • Proactively explore and integrate AI and emerging technologies to shape new approaches
  • Driving User-Centricity
    • Work with product teams to develop design strategies based on data. Ensure designs meet user needs and support business goals. Help create user scenarios and assist in journey mapping
    • Independently drive in-squad UX research to generate actionable insights and influence the product roadmap
    • Advocate for the user while building strong, trusting relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Systems Thinking
    • Demonstrates masterful understanding of design system principles. Defines and evolves systems (typography, colour, depth, iconography, illustration, layout) that work within brand and technical constraints
    • Understand and implement new design systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency across platforms, and contribute to continual improvement
  • Coaching and Collaboration
    • Mentor product designers and influence broader design strategies. Lead end-to-end work with minimal supervision. Manage own backlog
    • Establishes trust across teams and identifies opportunities beyond project scope
    • Collaborate with designers across product teams to elevate consistency and quality while refining team processes
    • Communicate effectively with global stakeholders
What you need to bring
  • 8+ years of design experience from product-driven tech companies with measurable impact
  • Hands-on experience designing for mobile and touch-based interfaces
  • Proven ability to set and manage design priorities guided by product and business needs
  • Expert knowledge of design systems implementation with results improving user experiences
  • Strong aesthetic judgment with understanding of visual design principles and industry trends
  • Successful track record consulting with engineering teams to develop feasible technical solutions
  • Experience using prototyping and research methodologies to validate decisions and drive product strategy
