They’re rapidly growing and looking for top-tier engineering talent to help scale their platform. The team is driven by curiosity, continuous learning, and a shared mission to modernize an industry that touches nearly every product we buy. Their culture is grounded in three core values:

  • Commitment to Customers

  • Learn, Iterate, Grow

  • Build a Great Community

The Opportunity

hireVouch is helping our client hire a Senior Data Engineer to establish and scale their data practice from the ground up. This is a foundational role with the opportunity to shape how the company leverages data to drive insights, analytics, and product innovation.

You’ll own the design and implementation of the company’s data infrastructure — powering analytics, telemetry, and intelligence across their platform. As one of the first members of the data team, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and go‑to‑market teams to define data models, standardize pipelines, and implement best practices in observability, governance, and data quality.

This is a high‑impact opportunity to help a rapidly growing startup scale and make data a strategic advantage.

About You

You’re an experienced data engineer who thrives in greenfield environments and enjoys building from scratch. You take pride in crafting reliable, scalable, and elegant data pipelines that make complex data easy to use. You have strong opinions on data architecture but approach them pragmatically — shipping iteratively toward a vision.

You’re motivated by solving hard, meaningful problems that improve both customer experience and internal efficiency. Most importantly, you’re excited to be part of a company using modern technology to reinvent a critical global process.

What You’ll Do
  • Design & Implement Data Infrastructure – Build and manage data pipelines, warehouses, and integrations that support analytics, monitoring, and BI needs.

  • Ensure Data Quality & Observability – Implement validation, testing, and monitoring frameworks to maintain reliable, trustworthy data.

  • Enable Analytics & Insights – Develop and maintain data models powering dashboards, experimentation, and KPI tracking.

  • Champion Best Practices – Establish standards, documentation, and mentorship as the data practice evolves.

What You’ll Bring
  • 4+ years as a Data Engineer (or similar) in a data‑intensive environment.

  • Proven experience building scalable data pipelines using modern tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Fivetran, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift).

  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in a programming language like Python or Scala.

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and warehousing best practices.

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaC principles.

  • Experience with streaming or event‑driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.) is a plus.

  • Comfort operating in startup or early‑stage environments where processes are still being defined.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to translate technical concepts to non‑technical teams.
