Job summary

Kinaxis is seeking a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer to advance our cloud platform capabilities and enable self-service deployments for development teams. You will contribute to architecture decisions, CI/CD enhancements, and automation across Terraform and Kubernetes tooling to improve reliability and delivery speed.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud engineering, knowledge of Go, Python, Shell/Bash, and Agile practices, with a focus on scalable, secure platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in increasingly senior cloud engineering roles in global environments.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Experience automating cloud solutions (infrastructure, applications, storage, platforms).
• Experience developing in Go, Python and Shell/Bash.
• Strong knowledge of system design to manage reliability trade-offs.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in software development and operations with infrastructure as code.

About the team

Imperative Orchestration, Declarative Automation - The Cloud Platform Engineering Team is responsible for building and running a cloud platform that enables delivery teams to self-service deployments with reduced lead time and complexity. We also provide cloud services and tools that enable internal development teams to build, test and deploy their applications using modern platform tooling like CI/CD pipelines, Terraform and Kubernetes delivery via ArgoCD. These same tools we leverage to ensure our customer environments are automated and continuously up to date. We are passionate about code and the power of automation to simplify complex processes.

As a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer you will play a critical role in advancing our cloud platform capabilities and delivering exceptional experiences to our development and operations teams.

What you will do

• Solve complex challenges as a trusted technical lead.
• Drive a DevOps mindset and collaboration within the Cloud Platform Engineering Team.
• Develop and enhance cloud reference architectures and guide teams on implementation.
• Participate in architectural decisions, improve CI/CD pipelines, and build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline delivery processes, enhance services, and provide a seamless experience through self-service and modern approaches.
• Mentor and lead team members to achieve excellence in industry best practices.
• Lead code and design reviews for high-quality deliverables.
• Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and trends.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in increasingly senior and complex cloud engineering roles; high-tech, global environment preferred.
• Experience with public cloud platforms, both console and API (GCP preferred).
• Experience automating cloud solutions (e.g., applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data).
• Experience developing in Go, Python and Shell/Bash.
• Strong knowledge of system design to manage operational and reliability trade-offs.
• Practical understanding of agile methodologies and Scrum.
• Demonstrated technical experience in software development and operations, developing infrastructure as code.
• Highly adaptable and able to pivot based on prioritization and needs of the business; proactively solicits and delivers feedback to ensure alignment.
• An articulate and professional communicator with the ability to provide clear, concise messaging (verbal and written) to multiple audiences.
• Advanced analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to coordinate input from multiple sources to develop impactful recommendations to achieve results for the business.
• Agile and adaptable; excels at managing and prioritizing workloads in an environment of ongoing urgency, ambiguity, and change.

Ability to find opportunities to accelerate the SDLC through innovative application of AI or other tooling while upholding architecture consistency, secure design, and code-quality standards.
