Job summary

Cadstrom in Montreal is seeking a Staff or Principal AI Developer to lead the technical direction of product AI systems. You will own the experimentation and evaluation framework, design self-improving systems, and partner with founders to translate AI capability into customer outcomes.

This is a high-ownership role requiring deep experience with LLMs, RAG, and production-grade AI deployments. You will mentor engineers, shape data pipelines, and help build an AI moat for the company's

Qualifications

6+ years building AI/ML systems with multiple production launches.
Deep experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and eval design for production.
Experience turning small datasets into calibrated, continuously improving systems.
Strong architectural judgment across cost, latency, accuracy, maintainability.

Responsibilities

Build and own experimentation and evaluation tooling used by EE-domain experts.
Design and ship self-improving systems exposed to customers.
Own tool surfaces AI agents reason over, including contracts and guardrails.
Dive deep into data to diagnose performance issues and fix root causes.
Collaborate with electrical engineers to translate domain knowledge into prompts and evaluations.
Contribute to data extraction pipelines from datasheets and other AI surfaces.
Mentor AI engineers, set code standards, and participate in hiring.
