Robots and Pencils is seeking a Staff AI Builder to lead the design and delivery of AI/ML systems. You will own end-to-end architecture, drive model development, and set engineering standards for reliable, scalable AI solutions.

You will join cross-functional teams to define AI architecture, optimize models, and solve integration challenges. This role emphasizes ownership, technical leadership, and impact on client workflows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with GenAI/LLM-powered systems in production.
• Hands-on depth in agentic AI: reasoning loops, tool calling, multi-agent orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows across single- and multi-agent architectures.
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines with embeddings and vector search.
• Integrate with AWS Bedrock and Agent Core including MCP-based tool design.
• Write production system prompts with structure and constraints.
• Build eval and observability into agents with golden datasets and tracing.
