Required immediately, our Winnipeg Branch is seeking a Full-Time Staff Accountant to join the team.

FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 16 branches and 5 manufacturing facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. FLOFORM manufactures, sells and installs over 20,000 premium surface countertops a year. Established in 1961, FLOFORM is proud to be one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working with a high degree of independence, the Staff Accountant applies the principles, theories and concepts of accounting to daily tasks. Prepares, analyzes and interprets journal entries, accounts and financial statements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional Accounting Designation required or close to completing
  • Sound business acumen
  • Advanced computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, and the ability to learn other software programs
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy and respect
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience an asset
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
  • Assist in monthly financial statements preparation
  • Reconciliation of monthly bank statements
  • Ensure internal procedures and policies are being followed by all branch representatives
  • Solid GAAP understanding and financial analysis and variance explanations
  • Other duties of a similar nature as required
