Argen Canada is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their Finance team at their head office in Kelowna, BC. The role involves hands‑on accounting responsibilities including daily accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting, with an emphasis on data analysis to support business decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive accounting duties: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, support month‑end close process, assist with financial statements and audit schedules, and handle tax filings and compliance reports.
  • Cost accounting and financial analysis: Perform cost analysis, variance reviews, margin reporting, pricing analysis, and supporting budgeting and forecasting using BI tools and Excel.
  • Accounts management and process support: Process invoices, payroll compilation, expense report administration, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable management, internal controls support, and contribute to finance process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Accounting or Finance degree/diploma.
  • CPA (in progress or completed) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in reconciliations, journal entries, compliance.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, variance analysis; advanced Excel; BI/reporting tools an asset.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (QAD desirable).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking abilities.
  • Reliable, ethical, detail-focused, adaptable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
