Job Summary & Responsibilities

As a Wireless Development Engineer at Versa Networks, you will be a critical member of the DEV team working with the engineering group. You will work on testing and verifying latest Networking products and technologies. While your primary responsibilities would be development of Wireless products, you are expected to be knowledgeable on Networking and L2/L3 technologies. We are looking for aSr. W-Fi Domain Expert with hands-on experience in wireless development methodologies and usage of tools.

• Work with engineering teams to design, develop and debug new features
• Write/maintain design and architecture documents
• Work on reproducing and fixing the issues found during engineering test phase and field tests
• Improve performance, scalability, features of the product
• Help improve product quality and performance through regular technical feedback

Job Requirements

• Proficient and Hands on in C programming, Data structures and Algorithms
• Experience Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax protocols
• Good debugging skills and especially with tools like GDB, strace etc
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix system programming, internals and drivers
• Good understanding of Networking protocol stack like TCP/IP
• Having working experience on OpenWRT/Wifi is added advantage

Bonus points

• Good understanding of 11ax features like UL and DL OFDMA,MU MIMO,TWT,BSS color
• Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer and experience in debugging throughput issues
• Strong scripting skills in at least one common language (Python, Perl, etc.)
• Knowledge of bug tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla

Job Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience in the wireless industry.
• Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
