Job summary

McKesson Canada is seeking a Senior Transportation Associate to support the efficient movement of products across our national distribution network. In this role you will coordinate transportation activities, manage carrier relationships, monitor shipment performance, and help ensure products are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

About the Role

McKesson Canada is seeking a Senior Transportation Associate to support the efficient movement of products across our national distribution network. In this role, you will coordinate transportation activities, manage carrier relationships, monitor shipment performance, and help ensure products are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and customer-focused, with experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or freight operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and transportation providers to optimize service, improve efficiency, and support a best-in-class customer experience.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate daily transportation operations, including shipment scheduling, dispatching, tracking, and delivery follow-up.

  • Monitor carrier performance, investigate service issues, and resolve transportation-related exceptions such as delays, damages, and delivery discrepancies.

  • Partner with warehouses, customer service teams, carriers, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution.

  • Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and reporting tools to track performance, maintain records, and support operational decisions.

  • Analyze transportation data, identify process improvement opportunities, and support cost-effective transportation strategies.

  • Ensure transportation activities comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety standards.

Basic Requirements
  • Typically requires 1+ years of related experience.

  • Experience coordinating shipments, freight movements, deliveries, or transportation activities.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.

  • Experience working in a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing, transportation, or 3PL environment.

  • Knowledge of transportation modes, including TL, LTL, courier, parcel, and intermodal freight.

  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems, or logistics software.

  • Familiarity with transportation regulations, freight documentation, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and carrier management processes.

  • Experience analyzing transportation data, KPIs, and operational reports.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based or hybrid work environment with regular computer use.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, carriers, and external partners.

  • May require occasional travel to distribution centers, carrier locations, or business meetings.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work using a computer and standard office equipment.
