Job description
Sr. Technical Program Manager, Amazon Private Brands Supply Chain Tech

This Sr. Technical Program Manager role will own program management for critical tech and science products that optimize Amazon's Supply Chain for the Amazon Private Brands business.

Amazon Private Brands has unique Supply Chain requirements compared to Amazon's Core Retail business. This is because Amazon Private Brands it is an imports-heavy business with long lead times and direct supplier relationships. Long lead times imply that we need to place orders 3-6 months in advance of customer demand being realized. It also means if we go out of stock, it might take us multiple months to get the ASIN back in stock, losing sales in the interim, so buying the right quantities becomes even more critical. Managing direct supplier relationships means we need to provide suppliers visibility into future demand to help them plan their raw material procurement and to keep their production lines running consistently. These unique challenges of an imports-heavy business also create unique opportunities for innovation on the Supply Chain front.

This is a critical role with an opportunity to drive millions of dollars in cost-savings and top line growth. This role requires a technically strong program manager with ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders (tech AND non-tech) to deliver on shared goals, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Key job responsibilities
  • Create detailed program plans to manage vendor transitions between different systems
  • Ensure excellent execution coordinating across Supply Chain engineering, science, and business teams
  • Drive detailed business and technical discussions/alignment
  • Lead strategic leadership reviews including annual planning, quarterly planning, goal setting, and status updates
