Olameter is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the Director of IT Services, Support and Operations, the Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, overseeing and administering Olameter’s server environments, networks, personal computers, telephony and projects as assigned and will serve as a technical expert in systems administration for all operating systems. This role ensures that appropriate security systems are in place and assists in developing risk assessments, the business continuity and disaster recovery plans and serves as second level support to Help Desk staff to analyze and resolve problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

The position will have a hybrid work schedule between working remotely and in office with some travel required, and shift will be Monday-Friday between 9 : 00am-5 : 00pm (occasional weekends / emergency overtime).

Responsibilities
  • Proactively maintain and develop all infrastructure (10% Linux,90% Windows) technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
  • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
  • Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
  • Manage the Kubernetes environment.
Requirements
  • Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 5 year(s) & Windows 3 year(s)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar relevant degree
  • In depth knowledge of Windows Server 2012-2022
  • Experience with Azure, O365, and AWS and other environments
  • Familiarity with VMWare, Hyper‑V and SAN management and concepts
  • Expert in PowerShell, Active Directory, Domain Administration
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
