What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Work on large‑scale, distributed systems to enhance the Hive ecosystem and drive innovation
• Design and develop features for parallel and distributed query engines within Cloudera Data Platform (CDP)
• Focus on query optimization, performance, and scalability of SQL queries
• Write design documentation for key features and capabilities

What is Required (Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 6 years of experience
• Experience with query optimization using tools like Apache Calcite
• Strong understanding of database internals, query processing, and SQL query optimization
• Proficiency in Java programming and strong data structures and algorithms skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
