This function is accountable to the Manager, Software Development and responsible for software development activities associated with front end, back end and /or business systems platforms.
Location
You will be based in our Montreal office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
- Responsible for reviewing and understanding business requirements, functional and technical specifications.
- Responsible for developing and constantly updating comprehensive functional, integration, performance and regression test plans
- Responsible for utilizing various system utilities, networking, and verification tools to diagnose, develop and enhance system performance
- Responsible for ensuring all code is written, tested and integrated with the rest of the project code base and version control system
- Responsible for designing new modules, enhancing and maintaining existing code
- Responsible for implementing and coding server based transaction processing applications
- Responsible to help with troubleshooting operational data issues
- Responsible to play an implementation role on key projects
- Responsible for organizational consulting on capabilities of products
- Responsible for customer facing product requirements
- Responsible for enterprise level customer support
- Responsible for writing programs following detailed specifications
- Responsible for suggesting enhancements to software where applicable.
- Responsible for participating in the development of user manuals where applicable.
- Responsible for compliance with corporate policies established by Moneris Corporation including but not limited to the HR Code of Conduct, Technology Policy & Privacy Policy

Your Moneris Career - What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field of study
- AS/400 development frameworks, tools and languages such as RPG400, RPG ILE, CL and SQL are a must.
- Proven experience developing applications for the AS/400. Experience with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with the following technologies and software development languages is a strong asset:PHP, SQL (MySQL, T-SQL), JavaScript (including AJAX, jQuery), HTML, CSS, Scribe Insight, Zend framework
- 7+ year of programming / software development experience
- Strong experience in application development and software development life cycle management in technical environments
- Ability to interpret scope/requirements documentation and size development effort.
- Ability to construct and review detailed design documentation, discuss/refine requirements and needs with business managers or customers, discuss issues and projects with management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows/ MS Office Applications.
- Bilingual is a strong asset for this role (strong in reading, writing, and verbal in at least one of the official languages and basic in the other) (English language is a must).
- Excellent communication skills and networking abilities with internal and external parties.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Resourcefulness. Ability to take initiative, to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
- Works collaboratively with others to meet shared goals and objectives.
