Job Description

Mattel is seeking a Sr. Coordinator – Social Media to join our Account Management team, based in Montreal. This position will lead the strategic planning, development, ongoing execution, and management of social media, creator and influencer activities on behalf of the Building Sets Portfolio. The role will support the business objectives and evolve our digital footprint, emphasizing engagement, conversion, and strong integration across the brand’s marketing campaigns and product launches. You will develop original content, collaborate with creators, and suggest creative ways to attract more customers and promote our brands. You are a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future customers.

What Your Impact Will Be
  • Co‑Develop the social media and influencer strategy, social media campaigns and tactical plans from beginning to implementation to support Mattel Building Set brands marketing efforts on social channels, creating opportunities to drive consumers towards the path of purchase and to meet aligned KPIs;
  • Present social media and influencer strategies, analyses, and key learnings regularly to leadership and various stakeholders;
  • Build relationships and collaborate internally (i.e., marketing, marcom, creative, media, PR, legal, etc.) and externally (i.e., agencies);
  • Co‑develop influencer briefs and work closely with agency partners on strategy, planning, and execution;
  • Innovate, oversee, and manage content creation, including creating detailed shot lists and briefs for creative teams and influencer partners;
  • Engage directly with our online community and influencer partners and build relationships with creators and ambassadors to strengthen brand advocacy and authenticity;
  • Support the development and execution of influencer and content creator programs (paid and earned), coordinating with agencies and internal teams on creator selection, briefing, content reviews, and approvals;
  • Read, write and edit copy, reviewing and routing written and visual assets for approval to internal stakeholders, and ensuring that all content is aligned with the social and marketing voice;
  • Create & manage content calendars, posting, community and asset management;
  • Partner with media team to define and develop recommendations for supporting digital content;
  • Define and develop comprehensive performance goals to optimize social media efforts daily, while leveraging learnings and adapting to them;
  • Actively monitor social media channels, determining when and how to engage and escalates accordingly;
  • Identify trends, relevant news, influencers, and other opportunities in the social media space, helping to increase share of voice and sustain brand affinity and loyalty;
  • Seek out top influencers for content and work collaboratively across all teams to cultivate relationships with those influencers - both digitally and in‑person;
  • Analyze campaign and activation results and determine audience behavior and engagement to ensure that insights are integrated into current and future strategies, as well as develop frameworks to help refine strategies;
  • Track and report performance of social media programs on an on‑going basis to establish best practices, while comparing against internal and industry benchmarks;
  • Provide actionable feedback loops to marketing, PR, and creative based on data and community trends.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred
  • 3‑5 years of experience in combined communication, social media and content creation;
  • Strong understanding of social media landscape, influencer ecosystems and content creation best practices;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French;
  • Collaborative, creative and adaptive work style;
  • Analytical mindset; comfortable tracking and interpreting performance data to create recommendations;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge and thorough understanding of the principles of marketing, advertising, promotional and digital content;
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as Dash Social, WorkFront, and Adobe Creative Suite are a plus;
  • A mix of agency and client‑side experience is highly preferred;
  • Demonstrated a mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
