In this role, you will manage Solar Self Power projects to meet the scope, schedule, safety, environment, quality and financial objectives of each project predictably and competitively.

What You Will Do:


  • Understanding and optimally using the project management systems and strong, principled project management practices to achieve positive scope, schedule, quality and cost results and manage and mitigate risks on each project.


  • Accountable for all aspects of assigned power project execution, including construction, safety, cost, schedule, and quality.


  • Facilitates interaction and coordination of various internal project partners including Power Business Development, Technical Services, Power Operations, Supply Chain Management, Legal, Safety, Land, Environment, Projects Supporting Groups, etc.


  • Assures effective scope management is implemented including scope definition, verification, and timely communication of potential scope changes.


  • Actively supervising the performance of a project or program, using key performance indicators, and taking actions to correct adverse situations. Regularly reporting the project status to stakeholders and management, proactively escalating issues as needed.


  • Building relationships and collaborating with project stakeholders by understanding their needs, through early engagement in decisions and plans that affect them while addressing and resolving issues.



Who You Are:


  • University degree, diploma, related construction, technical operations, project management training and / or experience specific to solar projects. An electrical background is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.


  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible related working experience in the pipeline, solar or electrical utility industry, preferably with 5 or more years related to project management.


  • Engineering degree and Professional Engineering designation is an asset.


  • Solid understanding of project management methods and techniques; with PMP certification or equivalent,


  • You demonstrate strong leadership and management, including organizational and planning skills.


  • Ability to lead meetings and set expectations for project team and collaborators.



Working Conditions:


  • Office environment with some field work required.


  • Minimum 30% of travel
