About the team and the role:

The Search team is responsible for the search page that drives a large part of eBay’s core marketplace business. The Search team strives to build an experience that enables users to easily explore, find, and buy what they want at the best value through an engaging, frictionless, and trusted Search experience, helping them make confident purchase decisions.

In this role, you will be responsible to build a personalized, engaging upper funnel experience when buyers are on search. Your expertise will drive the development of AI-driven features that improve product discovery, engagement, and user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI/ML technologies, along with a passion for applying these skills to redefine the way customers interact with our platform.

What you will accomplish:
  • Lead the product strategy and roadmap for improving upper funnel experience on search
  • Be a strategic problem solver and able to synthesize data from multiple sources (including analytics, user research, marketing research, and design) to identify key customer unmet needs, key solutions that can address the needs and build product vision with search item tiles
  • You will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineering, design, analytics, product marketing, and user research to deliver these products
  • You will lead the execution of your roadmap by working with data science, engineering, and analytics teams
  • Build MVPs, iterate fast and be the champion of execution excellence
  • Conduct AB tests for launch candidates and work with analytics teams to measure the impact on success metrics
What you will bring:
  • 7+ years of Product Management experience
  • Experience with search and discovery systems, including familiarity with ranking models, search algorithms, and semantic search
  • Experience in personalization and recommender systems, ideally using real-time data
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
  • Passionate advocate for user, and has confirmed results in achieving superb user experience within tight constraints
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, self-motivated and directed, entrepreneurial ability to innovate quickly
