Job summary

OnX in Toronto, Ontario seeks a Senior Practice Consultant – Data & AI to guide clients through multicloud data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML solutions. The role blends pre-sales solution architecture with hands-on delivery leadership across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

You will mentor junior consultants, shape practice offerings, and collaborate with sales to scope engagements, develop SOWs, and ensure delivery excellence in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, or AI/ML consulting, with pre-sales and delivery experience.
• Proven multicloud architecture experience across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Deep expertise in modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse/Fabric, Redshift) and AI/ML tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales to scope, design, and present Data & AI solutions in pre-sales cycles.
• Lead technical discovery sessions to assess current-state maturity and define architectures.
• Architect end-to-end, multicloud data/AI platforms across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Advise on cloud platform choices based on cost, performance, and data residency.
• Develop statements of work and LOE estimates; create architecture documentation.
• Provide delivery oversight and technical leadership on Data & AI engagements.
• Stay current on cloud data governance, MLOps, generative AI, and translate to offerings.
• Mentor junior consultants and engineers within the practice.
• Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership and enablement content.
• Manage vendor relationships with Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake.

Position Summary

The Senior Practice Consultant – Data & AI serves as a trusted multicloud architect and solution lead within OnX's Data & AI practice, guiding clients through the design and delivery of data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML solutions across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. This role blends pre‑sales solution architecture with hands‑on delivery leadership, and contributes directly to shaping the practice's offerings and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with sales and account teams to scope, design, and present Data & AI solutions during the pre‑sales cycle
• Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to assess current‑state data/AI maturity and define target architectures across multicloud environments
• Architect end‑to‑end, multicloud solutions spanning data engineering, data governance, analytics/BI, and AI/ML platforms on Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
• Advise clients on cloud platform selection and workload placement based on cost, performance, and data residency requirements
• Develop statements of work, level‑of‑effort estimates, and solution architecture documentation
• Provide delivery oversight and technical leadership on Data & AI engagements, ensuring solutions meet client requirements and OnX quality standards
• Stay current on Data & AI and multicloud technology trends (cloud‑native data platforms, MLOps, generative AI, data governance frameworks) and translate them into practice offerings
• Mentor and develop junior consultants and engineers within the practice
• Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, whitepapers, and internal enablement content
• Support vendor and partner relationships across Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, and Snowflake relevant to the Data & AI ecosystem

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, or AI/ML consulting, with demonstrated pre‑sales and delivery experience
• Proven experience as a multicloud architect, designing and delivering data/AI solutions across at least two of Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
• Deep expertise in modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse/Fabric, AWS Redshift) and AI/ML tooling
• Experience leading technical discovery and solution design for enterprise clients
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security practices across cloud platforms
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences
• Relevant certifications across multiple cloud providers (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud data/AI or architecture certifications) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience

Pay range: $110,000 - $173,000

The pay range set out above reflects OnX's anticipated compensation for this position at the time of posting. The successful candidate's base pay will be determined within this range, taking into account factors such as primary work location, role scope and responsibilities, required qualifications, and the individual's experience, education, skills, and knowledge.
