Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager, Gentek will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that drive growth and reinforce Gentek’s leadership in the Canadian market. This role requires a seasoned marketing professional with a strong understanding of the building products industry, a data-driven approach to decision-making, and the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team. Reporting to the VP, Marketing (U.S. office), the Senior Marketing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives and exceed customer expectations. The work location for this role will be ‘hybrid’ with office space in Burlington, ON.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership
  • Drive sustained revenue, market share, and margin growth through multi-year channel marketing plans tailored to the Canadian market.
  • Develop and oversee customer acquisition and retention strategies to strengthen Gentek’s position in the retail, repair & remodel and commercial markets.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with corporate goals.
Program and Campaign Management
  • Lead the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital platforms, email, trade advertising, and lead nurturing programs.
  • Strategically manage product launch processes in collaboration with product management and marketing operations teams to ensure timely and effective go-to-market execution.
  • Identify key customer insights and market trends to inform marketing strategies and enhance decision-making.
Team Development and Leadership
  • Mentor and manage a team of marketing professionals, fostering their development and enabling them to achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Champion collaboration across departments and encourage innovative approaches to overcome market challenges.
Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing initiatives, using analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and refine strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on market data and campaign performance metrics.
Customer Engagement and Relationship Building
  • Support the planning and execution of customer engagement events, including trade shows, contractor events, and training sessions, to strengthen relationships and brand loyalty.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop and implement pull-through strategies that drive product demand and customer loyalty.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure the creation and distribution of high-quality marketing collateral and sales support tools tailored to Gentek’s audiences.
  • Drive efficiencies in marketing processes and project management to optimize resource allocation and campaign impact.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in B2B marketing, with a focus on the trades, construction, or building products industries.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex marketing programs and product launches in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, including managing and developing teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across internal and external teams.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian market dynamics, customer behaviors, and competitive landscape.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, channel marketing, and new product commercialization processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing tools, with experience analyzing data to guide strategic decisions.
