Job Description

The Nordic Food & Beverage Manager leads the F&B operations and teams within, in Cypress Mountain’s Nordic area. This includes the rebuilt Hollyburn Lodge, the cozy Nordic Café, and a variety of special events that celebrate mountain life. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in a mountain‑top environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences, and sets the bar for culinary quality, creativity, and service. From hot chocolate by the fire to après‑ski celebrations, you’ll ensure every guest leaves with a smile and a taste of the mountain’s best.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Travel 1km to and from Hollyburn Lodge by cross‑country ski or snowshoe (with appropriate clothing for the weather).
  • Maintain positive guest relations by ensuring efficient, quality service and products.
  • Caters to guest needs and handles complaints in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Hire F&B team members, onboard, train, schedule, and lead the F&B team.
  • Coordinate and support frontline team members and supervisors.
  • Order food, ensure stock rotation, complete monthly inventories.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the F&B department and ensure proper storage of all food and equipment.
  • Work with different departments on the mountain to ensure special events are being executed to the highest standard.
  • Always maintain a safe food environment.
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained and following set safety procedures at all times.
  • Consolidate and verify daily sales reports and payroll edit reports.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
  • Solid cooking knowledge and hands‑on culinary skills.
  • Strong customer service focus with a friendly, professional approach.
  • Proven leadership and team‑building abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail; maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Flexible and dependable — available weekends, holidays, and during busy periods.
  • Positive, hands‑on attitude and appreciation for the mountain environment.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a food service supervisory or management role.
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 required, FOODSAFE Level 2 (an asset).
  • Serving It Right required.
  • Completion of a food service administration, hotel or restaurant course (an asset).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation with winter tires, to get to/from the mountain.
