Senior HR Generalist

Where will you work: Onsite – Esterhazy, Saskatchewan ( Highway 80 Esterhazy, SK S0A 0X0)

We are currently seeking a Sr. Human Resources Generalist at our Esterhazy, SK location. This position will be based out of K1 but will travel to both our K2 & K3 locations to provide support to our operations. As a business partner and an extension of the overall Human Resources Team, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will partner and work collaboratively with HR partners, employees, and business leaders to provide a culture that supports innovation, risk taking and continuous improvement. This person will provide HR consultative and business focused services, which will include talent management/development, compensation, benefits, coaching/guidance to People Leaders and employees, employee engagement, employee relations, and day to day HR support for the Potash sites located in Esterhazy, SK.

What will you be working on?

Actively contributes to the delivery, communication, and measurement of short- and long-term business strategies and plans in alignment with the broader delivery of enterprise-wide HR programs and functions, including employee engagement, workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, career management, managerial effectiveness, and other people development initiatives.

Works closely with hiring managers and recruiting specialists to support hiring requests. Provides recommendations for additional staff to support business/operational requirements. Leads the local execution of the talent management strategy, including programs for attracting, retaining and ensuring mobility of high-quality talent at all levels.

Leverages broad employee relations knowledge to optimize management and/or labour relationships, handle employee relations, and be a credible, trusted advisor for both employees and people leaders.

Partners with HR Service Delivery and HR Specialists to support and drive initiatives in the areas of recruiting, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, engagement, training, career/succession planning and other talent management efforts.

Miscellaneous projects as assigned.

What is required for this role?

Bachelors’ degree. Preferred major in Business or Human Resources.

5+ years of human resources experience.

Experience with global, public companies preferred.

Very knowledgeable of Canadian labour laws and practices.

Proven business partnering, strategic planning and consultative skills.

Proven versatility and problem identification and resolution skills in interacting with senior leaders and professionals.

Understanding of change management principles and practical change management experience.

Candidate must be proficient in a Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience with Workday HRIS preferred.

Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills, including excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

Strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills.

Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills are required.

Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.

Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.

Possesses an unwavering commitment to employee safety and environmental awareness.
