Job summary

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is seeking a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex projects across infrastructure, mining, and oil sands markets from our Calgary office.

You will work on water resources infrastructure, dams, and road/rail projects, developing client relationships and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Required: PEng eligibility in Canada, a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, and 10+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience in municipal, water resources, mining, or transportation market sectors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead geotechnical projects including terrain analysis, site investigations, instrumentation installation and monitoring, and geohazard assessment and control.
• Design geo-structures and foundations for facilities, retaining structures, and bridges; supervise construction and remediation of water retention facilities.
• Develop and nurture client relationships and grow the Infrastructure Team through proposals and business development.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, deliver high-quality project deliverables on time and within budget.

Job description

As a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer, you will have an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class projects covering geotechnical aspects of design, construction and operations applied in our three markets of infrastructure, mining, and oil sands. You will be working on water resources projects including storm ponds and water dams, tailings containment dams, roads, railways, and heavy civil infrastructure. This role will provide you with excellent technical challenges and an opportunity to grow your career as well as contribute to the growth of our Infrastructure team in Calgary.

Requirements

• Manage and work on projects involving terrain analysis, site investigations, instrumentation installation and monitoring, geohazard risk assessment and control, geo-structure and foundation (deep and shallow) design for facilities, retaining structures and bridges, construction management, and review, design, construction and remediation of water retention facilities.

• Are registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Have a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Have a minimum of 10 years of related experience in municipal, water resources, mining, or transportation market sectors.
